Five Wisconsin broadcasters will be recognized for their career contributions to excellence in radio and television with induction into the Wisconsin Broadcasters Hall of Fame on Thursday, June 18, 2009.
The inductees are: Charlie & Mike Kearns, Paul Le Sage, R. Perry Kidder and Tommy Lee Bychinski.
  They will be presented with award plaques and inducted into the Hall of Fame at the induction ceremony, which will be held at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake during the gala Hall of Fame evening banquet on the closing night of the WBA=s Annual Summer Conference, June 18, 2009.
The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame was established in 1989 to honor broadcasters who have made contributions to broadcasting, their communities and the state of Wisconsin over at least a fifteen year career, at least ten of which were served in Wisconsin.  The five 2009 inductees bring membership in the Hall of Fame to 103.
The permanent display of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame was dedicated in October, 1989 by then Federal Communications Commission Chairman Alfred C. Sikes, and is housed at the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, complementing the Society's extensive mass communications collections and memorabilia.                                               

Tommy Lee Bychinski

“Mr. Radio” in Reedsburg at WRDB/WNFM, Tommy Lee had a 44-year career in radio built on a strong foundation of community service and involvement.  After attending Brown Institute, he began his career in 1964 at WIGM radio in Medford and, after two years, began his 33-year run with Goetz Broadcasting.  For Goetz, he served in Marshfield at WDLB as a sports announcer and on-air personality from 1966-1972 at which time he moved to their stations in Reedsburg, WRDB/WNFM as an account executive.  In 1979 he took over a Station Manager and in 1985 was named a vice president for Sauk Broadcasting in Reedsburg and led the stations, even after Goetz Broadcasting disbanded, until his retirement in 2008.  Throughout his career, he dedicated himself to community service and industry service.  He served the Chamber of Commerce, local school district, the City Council, the County Board, the volunteer Fire Department for 34 years serving as Secretary/Treasurer, his church and the Knights of Columbus, all in the Reedsburg area.  He served 8 years on the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Board of Directors and was Chairman of the WBA Board in 1999.  He was “Mr. Radio” in Reedsburg for over 35 years!

Tommy Lee Bychinski is a graduate of St Anne’s School and Wausau Newman High School Class of 1963.  He is semi retired and works as the podcast director for Reedsburg Utility Commission in Reedsburg Wisconsin his duties include a Local News Podcast at ruclsnews.net  and three local newscast daily on the Local Access Channel.  Tommy also is a member of the Sauk County Board of Supervisors serves as chairmen of the County’s Finance Committee.

Please note that Tommy Bychinski started his radio career at WIGM IN MEDFORD his wife Sharon Meyer is from Dorchester and her mother still lives in Medford Harriet Meyer at 111 South Park Street.
